The Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 CB1241 RS485 Communication Board expands compatible SIMATIC S7-1200 CPUs with an integrated RS485 serial communication interface without increasing the PLC installation width. The board installs directly into the communication board slot of supported CPUs, providing a compact solution for integrating serial devices into industrial automation systems.

The CB1241 supports Modbus RTU Master, Modbus RTU Slave (Device), USS protocol and Freeport serial communication, making it suitable for communication with variable speed drives, barcode scanners, weighing systems, serial instruments, energy meters and other RS485 devices. Configuration, diagnostics and protocol management are fully integrated within STEP 7 using TIA Portal.
