SIEMENS - SIMATIC S7-1200 - Digital Input Modules

The Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 SM 1221 Digital Input Modules expand compatible S7-1200 controllers with additional 24 V DC digital input points for monitoring industrial sensors, switches, auxiliary contacts, push buttons and other discrete field signals.

The modules are available with 8 or 16 sink/source inputs. Siemens classifies the inputs as IEC Type 1 sink-compatible and specifies a nominal input rating of 24 V DC at 4 mA, selectable input filtering, galvanic isolation between field and logic circuits, and grouped input commons.
