SIEMENS - SIMATIC S7-1200 - RFID Communication Modules

The Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 RF120C RFID Communication Module connects one compatible industrial identification reader to a SIMATIC S7-1200 automation system. The module supports both RS422 and RS232 point-to-point communication through a 9-pin Sub-D reader interface, enabling connection of compatible Siemens RFID, optical identification and serial devices.

The RF120C supports serial transmission rates up to 115.2 kbit/s, with RS422 cable lengths up to 1,000 metres, depending on the connected reader, and RS232 cable lengths up to 15 metres. It provides one cyclic data word and up to 240 bytes of acyclic data exchange, galvanic isolation, integrated status indication and controller integration through the SIMATIC S7-1200 backplane bus.
