Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 CPU 1515R-2 PN is a redundant PLC CPU designed for industrial automation applications requiring increased controller and process availability.

In an S7-1500R redundant system, two compatible R-CPUs operate as a coordinated controller pair. Process-relevant data is synchronized between the CPUs so that the backup CPU can assume process control following failure of the primary CPU. The CPU can also operate in stand-alone mode.

The CPU 1515R-2 PN provides 1 MB program work memory and 4.5 MB data work memory and incorporates two PROFINET interfaces. This makes it suitable for production, infrastructure and process-related automation where higher availability and network flexibility are required.
