SIEMENS - SIMATIC S7-1500 / ET 200MP - CM PtP Serial Communication Modules

Siemens SIMATIC CM PtP Serial Communication Modules expand SIMATIC S7-1500 and ET 200MP automation systems with point-to-point serial communication interfaces for connecting industrial devices, drives, controllers, measuring equipment, scanners, identification systems and other serial field devices.

The family provides RS-232 and RS-422/RS-485 interface variants across Basic (BA) and High Feature (HF) performance classes. Depending on the selected variant, supported communication functions include Freeport, 3964(R), USS and Modbus RTU communication, with configurable transmission parameters and receive buffering for flexible integration of standard and application-specific serial devices.

CM PtP modules communicate with the SIMATIC controller through the system backplane and are configured and parameterised using STEP 7 in TIA Portal. Siemens currently lists all four exact MPNs within the ET 200MP communication-module portfolio as well as S7-1500.
