he Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 SM 1223 Digital I/O Modules combine digital inputs and digital outputs within a single expansion module, providing a compact solution for increasing PLC I/O capacity without requiring separate input and output modules.

The SM1223 range is available with 8 or 16 digital inputs combined with 8 or 16 digital outputs, using either 24 V DC transistor outputs or relay outputs depending on the model. These modules integrate directly with compatible SIMATIC S7-1200 CPUs via the backplane bus and are engineered using Siemens STEP 7 within TIA Portal.
