Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 CPU 1516F-3 PN/DP is a high-performance fail-safe PLC CPU for demanding machine, production and industrial automation systems requiring standard control and integrated functional safety.

The CPU combines 3 MB program memory and 7.5 MB data memory with three integrated communication interfaces. The first provides PROFINET IRT through a 2-port Ethernet switch, the second provides a separate PROFINET RT interface, and the third provides PROFIBUS DP communication. This enables integration of modern PROFINET automation devices together with existing PROFIBUS networks.

As an S7-1500F CPU, it supports fail-safe automation through PROFIsafe and is certified for safety applications up to SIL 3, PL e and Category 4, subject to the applicable safety architecture and Siemens engineering requirements.
